Every year when May makes its welcomed return to our calendars, we can’t help but sing the line from The Temptations’ “My Girl” that goes, “When it’s cold outside, I’ve got the month of May.” This month brings with it an abundance of joy—bright blue skies, a rainbow of flowers and, of course, the celebration of mothers on May 12.
In this issue, we not only celebrate mothers but we also highlight all the wonderful women in our community— COOs, entrepreneurs and philanthropists, just to name a few. The following pages are filled with stories to inspire us all to appreciate the women in our lives and to strengthen the connection we have with our mothers, sisters, friends and daughters. From an inspiring nonprofit and a mother’s travelogue to profiles of several Parker women making a difference, the Women’s issue serves to recognize the powerful role women have in our community and beyond. (And don’t worry, gentlemen; you’ll have your moment—stay tuned.)
As a female-owned business with a powerhouse team of ladies behind us, Parker Lifestyle would like to also take a moment to thank you, our readers, and the women who make each issue possible. One of our favorite lifestyle gurus, Rachel Hollis, once said “Maybe you have been given your mountain to show other people that it can be moved.” So, to the women of Parker: May you find a quiet moment (or two) to enjoy this issue we’ve lovingly dedicated to you, and may you be inspired by these wonderful ladies to go out and move your own mountains!
See you around town!
