Library Opening Highlights September’s Activities

September is such a wonderful time of year, especially 
in Colorado. The weather is cooler, the Broncos are back on the field and there are numerous activities for residents to enjoy - everything from taking in a high school football game, to Parker Oktoberfest on Sept. 16-18, to the 25th Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest in Palisade on Sept. 15-18.

The Rotary Club of Parker and Remi, the drug-sniffing. crime-fighting police dog, teamed up for a “meet and greet” the public on Saturday, Aug. 6, at the gazebo in O’Brien Park. The event was part of the annual National Night Out crime prevention festivities put on by the Parker Police Department.

Colorado Wine Country

Colorado Winefest runs Sept. 15-18 in Palisade, offering everything from food and wine pairings, chocolate and wine tastings, educational seminars and more. The “Festival in the Park” takes place on Saturday, Sept. 17, and is the state’s largest and oldest wine festival, featuring dozens of Colorado wineries, live music, a grape stomp, chef demonstrations and seminars.

Craft Beer is Focus of September Tour

Douglas County Libraries is inviting residents to celebrate Colorado's craft beer industry, which has more than tripled in the last five years. With more than 6,000 workers and an economic impact of $1.15 billion in 2014, the industry continues to grow.
